Online Submission – Trial

For A.S. 61, we will trial a system of (optional) online submission for entries to the A&S Championship.

Benefits:
With this format, we hope to provide a better (and more modern) opportunity for those entering from far afield, or for such entries as research papers which don’t fit the five pages/five minutes guideline. Judges will be able to assess more complex works at greater leisure than is possible under event conditions.

Submitting a digital entry also makes it easy for your work to be published in Cockatrice, or shown on the website and social media. The path from permission to publication has been rather meandering in the past! Over time, it would be great to build an online archive of arts and sciences from around the Kingdom.

New and Old for 2026:
– Old:  the competition setup at Crown events will be conducted as usual. Find the A&S table as early as you can on the Saturday, and leave your entry and form for the judges to examine.
– Old:  Local early judging is still available for those who can’t get their entry to the event. Contact your local A&S officer to arrange this.
– New! Use the Google form to upload your entry electronically. KMoAS will organise judging. Links below.

The Details:
Entry forms for Youth and for General entrants are already available on the KMoAS Google Drive. You will have to sign in to a Google account to use them – apologies to those who can’t do this, but Google ended up being the best current solution. Also, there is a limit on the upload amount for responses, so please be sensible about large images or videos. You can always host these elsewhere on the internet, and include a link to them in your submission.

Digital entries should be submitted at least three weeks ahead of the event judging day, just as we have been doing for local early judging. This timing allows for volunteer judges to inspect them, and have their responses ready to be bundled with the on-the-day entries.

Of course this is an evolving system, and I’m sure there will be hurdles and glitches as we go along…that’s why it’s a trial. 😉  Please let me know if you find problems, or have useful suggestions to make it work better.
