Greetings, makers and thinkers of Lochac,
It’s the third round of the Lochac A&S competition at Spring Coronation in Politarchopolis on 14 November.
Themes for this round are:
- For Sleeping (in, on or under)
- Grown
- The Far East
How do the themes inspire you? Don’t forget, we now have a dedicated option for Research-only entries*.
I’m promoting the competition themes now, because if you can’t or don’t want to send your entry over to Politarchopolis, the deadline for Online submissions or locally judged entries is 24 October 2026 -only three weeks or so.
Further information on the online submission process is here.
Online submission is useful for entries which can be suitably demonstrated by text, images, videos, or sound files. It is also the best option for research papers which are too lengthy for reading during the event.
Please do chat with your local A&S Minister before the 24th if you wish to have local judging, to allow them to canvas interest from other judges and set up an assessment session. The lead time before Coronation is to allow for considered assessment and communication between all parties, and to ensure the entry details and judging comments are available at the event.

*a research paper could be a good start for a Cockatrice article, maybe?
